CHEFS' COMPETITION REVEAL
As we eagerly anticipate the 10th edition of the Mediterranean Yacht Show, one of the most captivating features on the agenda is, once again, the prestigious Chefs’ Competition.
This celebrated event provides a platform for yacht chefs to showcase their culinary brilliance, drawing inspiration from Greece’s rich gastronomic heritage. Each year, the challenge invites participants to interpret a unique theme, and in 2025, the focus shifts to:
Greek Cuisine: A Gastronomic Journey Through the Years
This year's challenge calls on chefs to explore the soul of Greece through food, not simply as a collection of time-honoured recipes, but as a dynamic expression of landscape, memory, and cultural continuity. Chefs are invited to delve into this rich narrative and present a dish that captures the heart of Greek culinary identity, whether by reinventing a regional classic with modern precision, crafting a composition from hyper-local, seasonal ingredients, or transforming a traditional staple into an artful expression of place.
Running alongside the Chefs’ Competition, the Tablescaping Competition is a celebration of aesthetics, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail. Chief stewards and stewardesses are invited to design table settings that reflect their own style and vision, highlighting the flair and imagination that elevate onboard hospitality and transform each table into a distinctive visual experience.
Our esteemed judges
We are proud to once again welcome a distinguished panel of judges, whose culinary achievements speak volumes:
Chef George Papazacharias joins the panel as one of Greece’s most forward-thinking culinary talents. At the helm of Delta Restaurant in Athens — the only restaurant in the country awarded two Michelin Stars and a Michelin Green Star — Chef Papazacharias is a pioneer of sustainable haute cuisine. His zero-waste philosophy and innovative vision have redefined modern Greek gastronomy, blending precision, responsibility, and bold creativity. As a judge, he brings a discerning eye and a deep appreciation for dishes that are both meaningful and meticulously crafted.
Chef Luca Piscazzi, Executive Chef at the Michelin-starred Pelagos Restaurant at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens, also takes his place on this year’s judging panel. With a remarkable international career — including his leadership role at La Dame de Pic London, where he helped the restaurant earn two Michelin Stars — Chef Piscazzi offers a refined, global perspective grounded in Mediterranean excellence. His dedication to seasonality, sustainability, and technical precision makes him an ideal voice in evaluating this year’s interpretations of Greek cuisine.
