The first Mediterranean Yacht Show hosted its first Chef Competition, showcasing competing chefs that demonstrated outstanding culinary talent and creativity! The competition comprised two categories:
Category A: Yachts' charter rate up to 6.999E per day
Category B : Yachts' charter above 7.000E per day
The chef competition, came under the scrutiny of an enthusiastic team of professional and amateur judges led by Chef Michael Nourloglou winner of the gold chef's hat 2014, for cat A and Michelin Star awarded Chef Ettore Botrini for cat B.
The Theme of the Competition was Greek Sushi. Each of the competing chefs was challenged to create an innovative entrée using only Greek materials.
The Chefs and their dishes were judged on presentation, taste, originality and healthy dieting. As first place winners, Chef Yannis Kapasakis representing S/Y CALLISTO (Cat A) and Executive Chef Thanassis Roussos representing M/Y IRIS (Cat B) were awarded the gold prize. The second place winners,Chef Marios Glikas representing M/Y KENTAVROS II (Cat A) and Chef George S Kavatziklis representing M/Y PROTEUS (Cat B) were awarded the silver prize. The bronze prize was awarded to the third place winners Chef Nikolas Thomas representing M/S AEGEAN SCHATZ (Cat A) and Chef Konstantinos Balatsoukas representing M/Y HELIOS (Cat B). Winners have received their prizes and a certificate of recognition during the closing night. The precious winery Domaine Skouras has offered a 2 nights stay in beautiful Nafplion to the first winners of each category.
